WA is Hosting 2011 National Swim and we need officials.
2010 is the year for preparing to host the National Swim, April 2011 and a training program of the required officials has been scheduled throughout the year, starting Saturday 27th February 2010.... i. General Principles of Officiating, Roles and Responsibilities, Timekeeper! ii. Chief Timekeeper iii. Inspector of TurnsThe starting point of Technical Officiating courses! “General Principles of Officiating, Roles and Responsibilities and Timekeeping are prerequisites for Chief Timekeeper, which is prerequisite for Inspector of Turns ".All officials who accredited prior to 2005 (all our current Referees plus Starters, Marshals, Chief Timekeepers out there in membership land!) under the National Re accreditation program need to reaccredit through 2010! We are keen to make re accrediting as simple as possible and encourage individuals to attend courses as required. The courses have been reviewed and are not as arduous as prior 2005! We acknowledge prior learning/involvement!Courses are scheduled for different roles throughout 2010 as follows -Sat 24 April - Marshall, Clerk of Course/Check Starter - Code 281a & b Sat 19 June - Judge of Stroke; Starter - Codes 282a & b July (date to be confirmed) - GOP, Timekeeper, R&R, Chief Timekeeper and Inspector of Turns August (date to be confirmed) - Event and Meet Referee September (date to be confirmed) - OWS RefereeThe prerequisites to becoming an OWS Referee are "General Principles of Officiating, Roles and Responsibilities and Timekeeping are prerequisites for Chief Timekeeper, which is prerequisite for Inspector of Turns. Marshall, Clerk of Course-Check Starter, Starter and JOS will have to be started.

Safety ConcernsWhen lanes are crowded and swimmers are taking a rest, please wait in the left hand corner to allow other swimmers to turn safely on the centre line or to the right of the lane.
Please refrain from wearing watches or heavy jewellery while training in the lanes. |

Medical/Emergency Contact FileA confidential file containing all members medical conditions and emergency contact numbers will be left with the pool management at both Arena and Craigie. This is to ensure that coaches and staff members are able to access these details in case of an emergency. |
